The New York Yankees' Big 3 of Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton went back-to-back-to-back for a historic three-consecutive home run sequence, which has got the sports world talking. Even those not from the Yankees fan base have praised the hitting trio's feat.
Patrick Mahomes, three-time Super Bowl champion and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, is not a New York Yankees fan, but he admitted what he saw was unreal, leaving him short on words to describe the moment. They say, "It takes one to know one," and Mahomes is a perfect candidate.
"Not a Yanks fan but this is 🔥🔥🔥," Mahomes wrote on X.
Mahomes will have a chance to go back-to-back-to-back himself this season when he and the Chiefs look to become the first NFL team in history to win three straight Super Bowls.
Yankees' Aaron Judge-led Big Three went back-to-back in 10-3 win vs Rockies
The series finale between the New York Yankees and the Colorado Rockies will go down in history for many reasons.
In the first inning, Aaron Judge blasted a two-run home run against Austin Gomber, marking the 18th time the Yankees' captain has gone the distance in the first inning this season. Also, he joined the exclusive company of Babe Ruth, Sammy Sosa, Alex Rodriguez and Mark McGwire for multi-50-homer seasons.
Ruth, Sosa and McGwire had four such historic seasons. A-Rod and Judge have done it three times.
Next up was a clutch sequence in the seventh inning against Jeff Criswell. Juan Soto started the home run trot, followed by Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton doing the same, marking the first time the Yankees have hit three consecutive home runs since Sept. 17, 2020.
"I mean, it's hard to put into words, to be honest. It's truly special. I think we take it for granted what these guys are doing each and every day. What Cap is doing is truly incredible. You know, it's historic, and it might never be done again. It's just very fun to witness, amazing to be around, and I try not to get lost in taking it for granted, like I feel we all do," Marcus Stroman said in post game interview.
Stroman pitched five innings for three runs in a 10-3 win against the Rockies.
Aaron Judge, who struck two home runs on Sunday, is in the middle of an incredible home run spree, having gone the distance seven times in the past six games.
His next milestone: Breaking the 62-home run AL record, which he already did in 2022.
