Mookie Betts celebrated his 10-year anniversary in Major League Baseball with a heartfelt video published on YouTube. It showed the love of his family and friends through all his accomplishments. The video, created by people close to the Dodgers’ superstar, starts with a touching message from his wife, Brianna:
"Today we celebrate 10 years of Markus being in the leagues. In this video, you’ll see friends and family who came from Nashville and LA."
The video continues with Betts himself reminiscing about his early days in the MLB, recalling his awe at seeing David Ortiz’s locker for the first time:
"Luckily, I wasn’t playing that day cause I was too nervous to even walk [...] I remember looking at Big Papi’s locker, and I remember seeing how big his locker was compared to everyone else’s lockers. Now going back to Yankee stadium and all these other stadiums, I’ve got the big locker."
The celebration video features messages from childhood friends and family members, who told stories from his early years. It painted a picture of his journey from a young boy in Nashville to a Major League star.
Morgan Trent, a former NFL player, also makes an appearance, emphasizing Betts’ growth beyond baseball:
"Watching him evolve from who he was: a baseball player to a father to me is the most important thing. He’s an amazing father, he puts his family first."
Mookie Betts even made a remark centered around his love for bowling. The 2018 American League MVP winner is also known for being a professional bowling player during the offseason:
"One thing I wish I would have accomplished in these 10 years is not even baseball related. I wish I could have won a bowling title."
Mookie Betts has had a great career in baseball, starting from his very first game for the Boston Red Sox in 2014. He continued to do well in the Los Angeles Dodgers. Previous to the YouTube video, the two-time World Series winner went on X, formerly known as Twitter, posting:
"Ten years down! Blessed"
