"Our pitching staff is In shatters right now" - Dodgers fans concerned after team options Bobby Miller following disastrous start against Phillies

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Bobby Miller did not have the start he was hoping for on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. He lasted just four innings, giving up nine runs on 10 hits while walking three batters.

On Wednesday, the club announced they had optioned the hard-throwing righty down to the minors. In his place, they called up right-handed pitcher Ricky Vanasco.

It was the worst start of Miller's career, and could not come at a worse time. LA's rotation has taken a hit lately with pitchers like Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow hitting the IL.

The team now has four starting pitchers to get the job done before the All-Star break. While still holding a strong lead in the NL West, the fanbase is starting to get uncomfortable.

"Our pitching staff is in shatters right now" - one fan said.
"Wow, hopefully that will help" - said another.
"Welp" - said another.

The current rotation includes Gavin Stone, Landon Knack, Justin Wrobleski, and James Paxton. It will be up to these three rookies and the veteran to hold it down until after the All-Star break.

"Oh goodness" - said another.
"I hope he figures it out. He has potential and we need him" - said another.
"I hope they can fix him" - said another.

The fanbase hopes Miller can figure it out in the minors and return to the rotation ASAP. They need him to be at his best with all the team's injuries and uncertainties.

Bobby Miller's struggles left the Dodgers with no other option

Bobby Miller was fantastic as a rookie during the 2023 season for the Dodgers. He finished the season going 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA and was a big reason for the team's success.

However, this season has been a different story. After his Tuesday start against the Phillies, he now holds a 1-2 record with an 8.07 ERA across seven starts.

Part of his struggles could be that he is still dealing with the implications of shoulder inflammation. It was what put him on the IL on April 13, and it is a tricky injury to recover from.

Whatever the problem is, Miller needs to figure it out and return to the exciting pitcher he was last season. His team is depending on him to be someone they can turn to without worry.
