How the Ozzie Albies Foundation makes a difference

In 2022, the Ozzie Albies Foundation came to fruition. The lifelong dream of both Andreia and Ozzie, to make a difference in the world, spurred the power couple to start an organization dedicated to animal rights.

In particular, the organization helps homeless dogs find loving families to take them in. Per the foundation’s website:

“Growing up in Curaçao and Brazil—countries heavily affected by the challenges of stray dog populations—Ozzie and Andreia saw countless street dogs suffering without help. These experiences sparked a deep desire to make a lasting impact.”

Specifically, the Best Chance Program is designed to give dogs from all over a second chance at a happy life. The program provides rehabilitation and training for rescued dogs. The program then ensures that rescued dogs are capable of providing lifelong companionship to loving families.

Andreia, the foundation’s treasurer, ensures that the organization is adequately funded through marketing, fundraisers, events, and outreach. She also managed the nuts and bolts of the administrative and financial matters of the foundation’s overall functioning.

The foundation maintains an ongoing call for foster families and volunteers to pitch in as much as they can. With local community support, the foundation has been able to make a difference in helping change the lives of furry creatures and families alike.
