Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne had an amazing start to her final gymnastics year with the LSU Tigers. LSU took on the Iowa State Cyclones in the 2025 season opener at PMAC in Baton Rouge on Jan. 3. "Livvy" impressed with her skills in front of a packed crowd of over 12,000 LSU loyalists as she registered a score of 9.825 on the balance beam and 9.875 in the floor exercise.
The Tigers won the season opener 197.3 to 194.1 to kick off their championship defense in style. Now, LSU will be heading over to the home of the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad.
They kick off the event on Jan. 11 and will be taking on the No. 6 California Golden Bears, No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners and No. 4 Utah Utes at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Ahead of the collegiate quad, the LSU gymnasts had a photoshoot organized by ESPN and Dunne dropped a one-word comment while sharing her image from the photoshoot on social media:
"Rawr."
Dunne had won the NCAA title with LSU last year in April and had announced her stay for the fifth and final year in July 2024. She even graduated with her bachelor's degree from LSU in December 2024.
It is here, on the campus grounds of the university where she met Paul Skenes for the first time after he transferred from the Falcons to play with the Tigers baseball team in July 2022.
Skenes capped off a remarkable rookie season in the MLB last year with the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning the NL ROY award, starting the Midsummer Classic for the NL All-Stars and earning the nod on the All-MLB First team.
His friends and family members showcased their love and support for the ace RHP but no one did it better than Olivia Dunne, who was present in the stands cheering him on through most of his starts in 2024.
