Paul Skenes, girlfriend Olivia Dunne & Pirates ace's family turn heads at BBWAA awards dinner

Paul Skenes is a right-handed starting pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he had one of the best rookie seasons in Major League Baseball history. Skenes is also a big name off the field as he is dating Louisiana State University gymnast, Olivia Dunne.

It was a season full of awards for Paul Skenes, and he just picked up his 2024 National League Rookie of the Year Award. Olivia Dunne was on hand to celebrate with the Pirates' star, alongside Skenes' family.

The Pittsburgh Pirates shared several photos of Skenes as he officially picked up his award at the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) Awards Dinner in New York on January 25th.

Skenes wore a designer suit with a matching bowtie for the ceremony, while Olivia Dunne was turning heads in a fancy blue dress. The entire Skenes family was also dressed for the occasion.

Skenes was named National League Rookie of the Year after going 11-3 with a 1.96 earned run average. The Pirates were careful with their ace towards the end of the season, but he will have a full workload in 2025. The right-hander received 23 of the 30 first-place votes to win the award, while San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill got the other seven.

On January 23rd, Olivia Dunne posted several photos from a recent competition, captioned

That Instagram post brought more than 170,000 likes as Dunne is one of the biggest social media stars in the United States. Olivia Dunne and her teammates have already won a national championship, and are hoping for more success before she graduates.

Paul Skenes will set his sights on winning the Cy Young Award in 2025 as he tries to pitch the Pittsburgh Pirates to the postseason. Skenes will have his family and Dunne supporting him the entire way.
