LSU gymnast and popular social media influencer Olivia Dunne shared a photo alongside her pup, Roux, on International Dog Day on Monday. In the picture, taken at the university's gymnastic training facility, Dunne also held a "first day at school" certificate, commencing her fourth and final year at the school.
“Last first day EVER!!!” Dunne wrote in the caption.
The certificate showed her name as Liv Dunne, age 21 and grade 17, along with her wish to become a two-time "Natty champ." She and her team, the LSU Tigers, won the 51st NCAA championship in April, and she has one more chance this upcoming year to make her wish come true.
Until then, Dunne is focused on her gymnastics and various event promotions, all the while supporting her boyfriend, LSU alum Paul Skenes. The 22-year-old Pittsburgh Pirates rookie pitcher is having a hot season, with an All-Star appearance. Skenes is a top contender in the NL Rookie of the Year race with a 2.16 ERA in 104 innings across 17 games (8-2 record).
Dunne has never been shy about showing her support for Skenes. At a Fanatics event last week, she dressed up as her boyfriend with a jersey and mustache and even purchased a Skenes baseball card, showcasing her bargaining ability.
Their relationship went public during an interview with Paul Skenes in the Pittsburgh Gazette last year.
Olivia Dunne’s pup Roux celebrated the Pirates’ victory
Olivia Dunne’s passion for baseball extends beyond just supporting her partner. Dunne, who is from Westwood, New Jersey, in the New York City metro area, had posted photos from Yankee Stadium while wearing a Yankees hat before Skenes was drafted. Since Skenes, who led LSU to the 2023 national title, was drafted, she's been a regular spectator at Pirates games, cheering the team.
On Sunday, in the series finale against the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park, Livvy shared photos on Snapchat of herself and Roux celebrating the Pirates' win against the Cincinnati Reds, with the caption:
"Roux's happy cause the Pirates won."
Olivia Dunne is also engaging sports fans worldwide through her large social media following. Although her career plans after graduating from LSU are yet to be disclosed, whether she pursues a coaching career in gymnastics or ventures into fashion, her success seems likely.
