Many fans believed that the LSU standout player would make a return in the Olympics. However, due to the injury suffered throughout her junior career, she decided to opt out of the Olympics in 2020 and was also not part of the USA team led by Simone Biles in Paris 2024. As of now, she has decided to return to the LSU gymnastics team this season.

While LSU couldn't win the NCAA championships for three consecutive years, the Tigers made a comeback in the previous season during her senior year.

Dunne met her boyfriend Paul Skenes at LSU. The National League Rookie of the Year got transferred from the Air Force Academy to the Tigers baseball team in 2022. He was later selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates and has secured his place on the team as the starting pitcher as of now.
