Free agents Pete Alonso and Ryan Stanek's family grew closer during the 2024 season with the New York Mets. While Alonso has been in the franchise since March 2019, Stanek and his spouse Jessica arrived in the Queens following a midseason trade with the Seattle Mariners, which had the Mets sending minor league prospect Rhylan Thomas in return.
Both Jessica and Haley enjoyed the Mets' deep playoff push, which saw them making it through the wild card and NLDS round before losing in six games against the LA Dodgers in the NLCS classic.
On Tuesday, Alonso's wife shared a heartfelt Instagram story of a beautifully baked loaf of bread she received from Jessica Stanek. The post featured the golden-brown loaf sitting on a pristine countertop alongside a jar of honey and a set of wooden bowls.
Haley’s caption read:
“@jessicastanek_ the most gorgeous loaf 🍞 thank you!! ❤️.”
Haley stands by Pete Alonso as a "rock" in his support
Pete Alonso's wife, Haley, has been a solid support to his career through the ups and downs. The couple married on Nov. 12, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa.
Following the end of the 2023 regular season, Alonso shared his love back for the unwavering support of his wife, Haley.
"This season was a wild ride," he wrote in the caption. "I wish we could have been the last team standing, but the baseball gods will reward hard work and determination sometime in the future. Despite everything, I couldn’t do what I do without my wife and my rock by my side every day and night ♥️ 2024 is a going to be a year of high aspirations and positive manifestations coming into fruition. #LFGM."
Following the completion of the 2024 season, Pete Alonso became a free agent. The first baseman is wanted by several teams, including the Mets, but his desire for long-term contract is what MLB analysts believe is holding up a potential signing. The Mets have reportedly offered a record deal for first baseman (three-years, $90 million); however, Alonso seems to be after more.
