The Philadelphia Phillies are off to a rocky start. They lost their Sunday night game to the Texas Rangers 2-1. The loss brings their record to 0-3 to start the season. The Phillies join the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals as the only teams to be winless through the Opening Day weekend.
This is the first time the team has started 0-3 since 2016. It's quite disappointing for a team that reached the World Series last season.

In their first three games, the team has given up 29 runs. This is pretty alarming for a team that wants to get off to a hot start before their superstar Bryce Harper returns. Harper had elbow surgery in the offseason and isn't expected to return until the All-Star break.
It won't be easy for the team to bounce back as they face the New York Yankees for a three-game series starting on Monday. The Phillies will hand the ball to Taijuan Walker in game one of the series, while the Yankees will turn to Nestor Cortes Jr.
"I can't think of a [worse] opening to a year for a World Series team than this. Pitching implodes the first two games, and the one game it's good, they leave runners stranded. 0-12 vs the Rangers. Leave Pache and Harrison in Texas. Maybe don't go back home 0-6? Embrassassing" one fan tweeted.
"Still a lot of baseball to play but this weekend was a disgrace" another fan tweeted.
Philadelphia Phillies fans are worried about how their team looks right now. They created a ton of momentum in the offseason by signing All-Star shortstop Trea Turner.
Fans are trying to hold it together, but it's hard after the uninspiring performances they have seen so far. It likely won't get any easier as they travel to the Bronx to take on the Yankees.
The Philadelphia Phillies need to turn it around quickly

The Philadelphia Phillies can't afford to drop too far into a hole this season. They play in a tough National League East, which could be quite competitive this season.
The Atlanta Braves look to be more of the same team they have been in years past, dominating the division. The New York Mets are also looking to be quite competitive this season. If the Phillies don't turn it around soon, they may dig themselves a hole they can't climb out of.
