Francisco Alvarez, Brandon Nimmo, Harrison Bader, Pete Alonso, and Brandon Marsh hit home runs tonight
Alvarez was the first to put the Mets on the board, while Brandon Nimmo followed with another three-run home run. Nola failed to maintain control in the end, as he was forced to exit the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Francisco Lindor drove in an RBI double by sending Harrison Bader home. In no time, the Mets extended their lead to 7-0. From the pitching end, the Mets dominated their opponent, preventing them from scoring in the first six innings.
After Quintana's spectacular performance in seven scoreless innings, the Mets continued to rock Citizen's Bank Park. At the top of the eighth inning, Harrison Bader went deep from the plate with another 410-foot three-run home run. The Mets extended their lead to 10-0, easily dominating Philadelphia.
Ad
Following Bader was veteran slugger Pete Alonso with a solo home run deep to left field. Alonso smashed a 61 mph pitch by Kody Clemens at the top of the ninth inning.
The Phils finally got on board as Brandon Marsh smashed a three-run home at the bottom of the ninth inning. Marsh drove in Kyle Schwarber and Harper with a blast to right field against Danny Young.
Despite their fight at the end, the Mets were too strong for the Phils as they took Game 1 with ease with an 11-3 final score. The Mets are one step closer to picking up a series win tomorrow.
