The Houston Astros are not having their way at Citizens Bank Park as they dropped their second straight game on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. While Monday's game was a narrow 3-2 loss, the second game was a 5-0 shutout loss for the AL West leaders, who are starting to see their division lead shrink, with the second-place Seattle Mariners only 3.0 games behind them.

Fans on the internet trolled the club badly the other day and it seems this will only continue as the Astros' away game record drops to 35-33 and they are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

"Phillies just got your number; there’s nothing wrong with that. They’re a really good team; y’all are not," one fan wrote.
"Yall are actually terrible; don’t tell me the Phillies are about to sweep yall 😂," another added.

Some fans also took a dig at their 2022 World Series over the Phillies.

"LMFAOOO 2022 SUCH A FLUKE😹😹😹" another commented.
"Bring the 🗑️ [trashcan] tomorrow," another fan referred to bring in the trash can, something the Astros allegedly used to steal signs during their infamous 2017 World Series win.
"POVERTY A** GOT SHUTOUT😂😂😂" another added.

Phillies pitchers too good for Astros' offense

It was always going to be a pitching-dominant game with two aces on the mound. While Aaron Nola started for the Phillies, three-time Cy Young winner Justin Verlander was there for the Astros.

Nola pitched a gem, throwing seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out six hitters. On the other hand, Verlander was taken for a ride in the third inning, giving up four earned runs.

Austin Hays started the third inning with a double and reached home on Trea Turner's RBI single. Bryce Harper's single was followed by a three-run home run from Nick Castellanos, giving the Phillies a 4-0 lead early in the game.

Other than the four-run third inning, Verlander put up blanks in five innings. However, with Houston's offense struggling on the other end, there was no coming back. Another run was added by the Phillies in the seventh inning on Alec Bohm's RBI double.

Finally, Phillies relief pitchers Jose Ruiz and Tanner Banks pitched the final two scoreless innings to get the Phillies their 78th win of the season while also taking the three-game series. The last game will be played on Wednesday.
