Jazz Chisholm Jr. repped up in the iconic No. 13 jersey in iconic Yankees pinstripes for the first time in the series finale against the Red Sox on Sunday. Before Chisholm Jr., the likes of Joey Gallo and Yankee legend Alex Rodriguez had wore this number.

This move comes after Jazz was traded to the Bombers in exchange for the Marlins receiving some prospects. Take a look at the Jazz rocking the No. 13 Yanks pinstripes jersey here:

The 26-year-old Bahamian was wearing the No. 2 jersey with the Marlins, but the Yankees retired the number, so he had to wear the No. 13 jersey. The legendary Derek Jeter used to wear the No. 2 jersey on the Yankees roster, which was retired in his honor.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. was just 17 when he was signed as an international free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks for a deal worth $200,000 in 2015. After almost three years playing with D-back minor league teams, he was traded to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Zac Gallen in 2019.

After playing 112 games with the Jackson and Jacksonville minor league teams of Miami, he was added to the Marlins' 40-man roster at the start of the 2020 season. He spent 4.5 seasons at Loan Depot Park before his midseason trade to the Yankees on July 27 in exchange for three prospects.

His breakout season in the MLB was in 2022, which also earned him his maiden All-Star nod. He crushed 19 home runs and 51 RBIs and registered 22 stolen bases in the 2023 season before undergoing surgery to repair a turf toe on his right foot. His salary for the 2024 season was set at $2.6 million through arbitration.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. will hope to improve his 2024 stats with the Yankees

Jazz Chisholm Jr. has produced decent offensive numbers this campaign with the Marlins. He was one of the better players on the roster before his trade to the Yanks, hitting .249, 13 home runs, 50 RBIs and .730 OPS.

He's joining one of the most potent and in-form batting lineups this season, with Yankees captain Aaron Judge and their Dominican ace Juan Soto producing staggering offensive numbers.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. will add much-needed depth to the Bronx Bombers' roster in both aspects of the game. That's due to his amazing versatility in defense and brute slugging on the offensive end.
