Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros are making up ground after a rough start to the 2024 season, while his wife, Kate Upton, is making headlines across the globe. The Astros are on a six-game winning streak after defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Friday, and Upton has been making waves in the fashion world.
Media and fashion company 032c are featuring Upton in their summer edition, titled "The Opioid Crisis Lookbook,” which comes out in June. Upton took to Instagram to post an image from the magazine, which she captioned:
"Reunited with the amazing Sebastian Faena in Paris for this month’s cover of @032c… obsessed with how it turned out, thank you to Ras for the vision and to the team."
032c's website describes the scene in Paris, France as Upton "slurps margaritas in bed with Sebastián Faena and Ras Bartram." The Opioid Crisis Lookbook aims to explore "consulting for cults," the opioid crisis in the US, and provide other intriguing insights into a host of occult topics around Europe.
Meanwhile, Justin Verlander is set to start on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Given Houston's recent run of form, the Astros will be confident in their ability to come away with a win and potentially move closer to the second-placed, 23-23 Texas Rangers.
Kate Upton discussed 'nervous energy' ahead of Justin Verlander's injury return
Justin Verlander started the 2024 season on the IL and is set to make his sixth start on Saturday.
Before Verlander's first start of the season, Kate Upton spoke to Sirius XM. Among the topics discussed, Upton talked about the nervous energy she feels she and other pitchers' wives feel and how it differs from that of other players:
"I feel like I might get in trouble for this. I think that pitchers’ wives are a little different than position-player wives, because position-player wives — they play every single game, so they can’t be as connected to every single play.
"I feel there’s like an energy, a more nervous energy, with starting-pitcher wives, because it’s once every five days."
With the Astros looking to put pressure on the Seattle Mariners and Rangers in the AL West, Justin Verlander will look to move to 3-1 on the season.
