Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, Shohei Ohtani, got his first All-Star nod as a Dodger. It is the Japanese phenom's fourth consecutive selection for the Midsummer Classic hosted at Globe Life Field, Arlington on July 16.

Dodgers team photographer Jon SooHoo captured the two-time MVP's emotion after receiving his All-Star invitation. Ohtani had a beaming smile while posing with the official invitation in the locker room.

Jon SooHoo captured several glimpses of Dodgers players during the team's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. The latest edition of 'The SooHoo Scrapbook' featured the six Dodgers players, Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernandez, Will Smith and Tyler Glansow, selected for the All-Star game in one frame at Dodger Stadium.

SooHoo also captured veteran Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw rehabbing with the team. Kershaw faced batters in a simulated game before the team's series finale at Dodger Stadium.

Shohei Ohtani gets fourth consecutive All-Star nod

Shohei Ohtani was named the designated hitter for the National League team on Wednesday last week. While Ohtani's injury has limited his two-way ability, the Japanese star has stitched an MVP-calibre season for the Dodgers.

Despite his hitting prowess since moving to the Dodgers in the offseason, Shohei Ohtani withdrew his name from the Home Run Derby as a precautionary measure.

"It would just be a real disappointment for not only Shohei, the Dodgers and also the fans if something were to happen during something like that, which is an exhibition essentially," Dave Roberts said backing Ohtani's decision.

Rookie pitcher Gavin Stone was also in contention for an All-Star spot after his strong start to the season in the absence of Kershaw. However, he failed to make the Midsummer Classic with Tyler Glasnow getting his maiden All-Star nod.

“It’s awesome,” Glasnow said.“It’s always been a goal of mine, to go to the All-Star game.”

Glasnow has made the most starts among the Dodgers rotation and was one of the best starters in the league barring a few uncharacteristic performances in recent outings.

Dave Roberts' team has six representatives for the marquee game in Texas, the second most behind the Philadelphia Phillies' seven players. The two star-studded teams will open a highly-anticipated three-game series at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday.
