Trevor Bauer, playing for the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League, started the game against Bravos de Leon on Wednesday. However, rain interrupted the play after four innings of ball, and the game was abandoned.
Off the field, though, Bauer's agent Rachel Luba didn't miss the opportunity to enjoy the moment. Luba led a spontaneous "dance party" during the rain delay alongside professional wrestler Euforia. Luba shared the story on her social media.
"Rain delay dance party with the legendary @euforia_cmII," Luba wrote in her story.
After the game, Trevor Bauer met with Euforia, with Luba calling the meeting as:
"So glad you guys could meet! 2 legends in their sport"
Bauer uploaded a photo from their meeting on his social media. He shouted out the wrestler for wearing a custom-made Lucha Libre mask with “19K” in honor of Bauer's strikeout record, which he registered in June.
Rachel Luba praises Trevor Bauer for helping one of his former teammates playing in NPB
MLB suspended Trevor Bauer after sexual assault allegations, and he signed with NPB's Yokohama DeNA BayStars on a one-year, $4 million contract in 2023. He pitched for a year there and also made an All-Star selection.
Andre Jackson, playing for the DeNa, had a great June pitching-wise and said that he took advice from Bauer. After struggling in April, Jackson pitched for a stellar 1.01 ERA in June and credits Bauer for the transformation.
"When I was starting to feel better, I exchanged messages with Bauer," Jackson said, via Japanese newspaper Sanspo (translated to English). "I was having a hard time, so he gave me a lot of advice because he throws pitches similar to me."
Rachel Luba shared the interview and report on social media while praising Trevor Bauer for helping a former teammate.
"While @BauerOutage might not be a @ydb_yokohama this season, love that he’s still helping their pitchers dominate on the mound👏🏻," she tweeted.
Trevor Bauer is building a strong case for his MLB return but is yet to gain any interest from MLB teams. He has already extended his contract with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico for the season but will be hoping to return to the majors next year.
