Former MLB veteran and Texas Rangers icon Lenny Randle died at the age of 75 on Monday and was mourned by the baseball community. The famed infielder's major league career spanned 12 years, during which he produced several memorable moments.

The news of his death was first released by the Seattle Mariners, where Randle had ended his MLB career, which has produced an outpouring of tributes from across the country.

Lenny Randle was selected by the Washington Senators in the 1970 MLB Draft and made his major league debut the next year with the newly relocated and renamed Texas Rangers.

While he's best remembered for his time there, he went on to play for the New York Mets, the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs before ending his career with the Seattle Mariners in 1982.

Randle's breakout season in the MLB was in 1974 when he also got into a bench-clearing brawl against the Cleveland Indians for knocking over the pitcher while running to first base.

Another famous incident occured in 1977 during his time with the Mets when Randle punched manager Frank Lucchesi during Spring Training for calling him a "punk". He fractured the manager's cheekbone in three places, who ended up needing plastic curgery and hospitalized for a week.

Finally, Randle's best-known memory came in 1981 during his time with the Seattle Mariners. With the Kansas City Royals visiting them at home, Randle was playing third base when a slow rolling ball went down the foul line. The infielder got down to his hands and knees and blew the ball over the line. While his action was disallowed, it remains etched in baseball fans' memory.

When Rangers infielder Lenny Randle laid down a bunt just so that he could knock the pitcher off his feet

After spening his first three years moving between the minor and major leagues with the Texas Rangers, Lenny Randle truly broke into the MLB in 1974. That same year, his infamous brawl against the Cleveland Indians took place.

The incident started with Cleveland pitcher Milt Wilcox throwing the ball behind Randle during a pitch early in the game.

In his next at-bat, the Rangers batter bunted the pitch towards first base and ran off the baseline just to hammer into Wilcox. It resulted in a bench-clearing brawl between the two teams. While Randle produced many infamous moments during his career, he still remained a beloved figure among MLB fans.
