Red Sox insider claims Juan Soto "going to stand out wherever he goes," citing comfortability with Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Gerrit Cole

Juan Soto's free agency has left many wondering about his potential destination. With each passing day, there's a new update with teams upgrading their offers to land the All-Star outfielder. Another reason that makes Soto special is his relative ease of playing alongside big profile names.

He first did it with the Washington Nationals (Bryce Harper, Trea Turner), then with the San Diego Padres (Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado) and last season with the New York Yankees (Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole).

During Thursday's episode of NESN, host George Balekji asked Alex Speier if Soto being the top guy for a team remains a concern. If that's the case, the Yankees and the Mets may not be ideal fit, as they already have Judge and Francisco Lindor.

"I don't have enough familiarity with him to know the answer to that," Speier said (18:00 onwards). "What I do know is that, on a star-studded Nationals team, he looked very comfortable. He didn’t look like he felt he had to take a backseat to anyone. On a Yankees team last year that featured Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole, it didn’t look like he was regretting the lack of attention or fanfare around his at-bats — because there was none.

"He looked like an absolute star every time he stepped into the box and did the Soto shuffle. I don’t think there’s any worry on his part about performing in relative obscurity. The dude is going to stand out wherever he goes."

Alex Speier reports Red Sox wants another meeting with Juan Soto

It seems like the Red Sox felt that they didn't make their best offer to Juan Soto and are now reportedly seeking another meeting with the outfielder, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe.

The report also mentions that the Red Sox would ask Soto's camp on their final price and see if the deal gets done.

At the moment, the star free agent is reportedly asking for a 15-year, $700 million contract. Meanwhile, the five teams - the Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox and Blue Jays - have all offered him a deal in the neighborhood of $600 million.
