Another day, another victory for the LA Dodgers and their fans. On Sunday, MLB insider Mark Feinsand reported that the reigning World Series champions landed one of the biggest free agent relievers remaining — Tanner Scott. The two sides agreed to a four-year $72 million deal, addressing one of the few question marks remaining for the National League juggernauts.

It's been yet another offseason to remember for the Dodgers, adding several notable new faces to the roster. They have signed or acquired the likes of Blake Snell, Hyeseong Kim, Michael Conforto, Roki Sasaki and Scott.

The signing of Scott has led to some pushback from MLB fans around the world. The announcement led to frustrated fans sharing their thoughts on social media.

"The rich just keep getting richer," one fan said.
"The only people who think this is ok are Dodgers fans. That should tell you something," another fan wrote.
"What a fucking joke this is," one fan commented.

It's clear why fans would be frustrated by LA adding another star given how dominant they were in 2024. It also appears that the team can land any player they want while teams such as the San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays remained in contention before ultimately missing out. Some believe that the Dodgers adding every player they want is hurting the game.

"Ruining baseball. Disgrace," a fan wrote.
"What happened to the sport I love?" another fan tweeted.
"They have endless money it seems," one fan commented.

Scott is coming off the best season of his career split between the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres. Over 72.0 innings of work, he posted a 9-6 record with a 1.75 ERA, 22 saves and 84 strikeouts en route to his first all-star selection.

LA Dodgers drew criticism by landing Roki Sasaki as an international amateur

The frustration about the LA Dodgers signing Tanner Scott comes in the wake of the team landing one of the top pitching prospects in the world, Roki Sasaki. Since the young Japanese pitcher was considered an international amateur, teams needed to use their bonus pool money to facilitate a deal instead of throwing massive contracts.

Even though several teams were looking to sign Sasaki, the Japanese pitcher opted to follow Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to Los Angeles. This was a move that many fans expected once the pitcher was posted by his NPB club, the fact that the process dragged on only to sign with the Dodgers added to the overall frustration with the offseason.
