2025 could be the year of Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. as he looks to rebound from an injury-shortened 2024 campaign. The former National League MVP suffered a season-ending ACL tear and eventual surgery, limiting the four-time All-Star to only 49 games last year.
The ultra-talented outfielder is believed to be ready for the start of the 2025 campaign. However, it remains to be seen how things will play out once the team ramps up activity heading into Spring Training. The fact that this was his second ACL tear, the Braves will likely take it easy on him as he works his way back.
While the team will likely proceed cautiously with Acuna in 2025, the 27-year-old has been putting in the work throughout the offseason. Ronald and his brother Bryan have been seen doing a series of workouts in Venezuela ahead of the new season.
On Monday, Acuna's personal photographer, Samuel Mijares, shared a few images on Instagram.
Bryan Acuna, who is hoping to follow in his brother's footsteps, is a promising infield prospect for the Minnesota Twins. While he may be several years away from potentially making his MLB debut, the youngster is learning alongside one of the best in the business.
If the Atlanta Braves are going to compete in 2025, they will need Acuna as healthy as possible, even if that means limiting his playing time in the outfield. This is a similar strategy that the Los Angeles Angels have considered when it comes to their star, Mike Trout. It would not be surprising to see Acuna serve as a designated hitter to limit extra strain on his knee, at least early in his return.
Bryan is not the only brother of Ronald Acuna Jr. looking to make an impact in the Majors
It's safe to say that the Acuna family was born to shine on the baseball field. Ronald's other brother, Luisangel Acuna, is poised to make an impact sooner rather than later for the New York Mets. The Mets acquired Luisangel in the blockbuster trade that sent Max Scherzer to the Texas Rangers.
Luisangel got his first taste of MLB action last season, and there are plenty of reasons for the Mets fans to be excited about it. In 14 games last year, Luisangel posted a .308 batting average with three home runs, six RBIs, and a .966 OPS. It may not be long before Ronald Acuna Jr. is not the only All-Star caliber tearing up the Majors.
