Ronny Mauricio, the current MVP of LIDOM, Dominican Republic’s winter league, is having a productive Spring Training with the New York Mets as he aims to secure a place on the team's roster.

The Dominican player has only had seven at-bats in the preseason so far but has already hit three home runs. This performance follows his impressive form in the Caribbean League last season, where he was awarded the MVP.

Mauricio's latest show of power came today against the Miami Marlins, where he hit one home run and recorded two RBIs. Although he has faced some challenges at the plate, his recent improvements have led to him receiving more walks and fewer strikeouts.

The 21-year-old is currently ranked in the top 20 among the New York Mets' prospects and has shown his ability to play in different positions on the field. With his recent performances, Mauricio could earn a place in the team or at least be considered for the long season ahead.

Despite his youth, Ronny Mauricio has developed his playing abilities, which could earn him a spot in the Major League. The Mets' manager, Buck Showalter, has also praised the young player's performances in the preseason, saying he is one of the many young players off to a good start this year.

Although the possibility of Ronny Mauricio making the Opening Day roster is slim, he could continue to receive ample opportunities at shortstop, especially with Francisco Lindor participating in the World Baseball Classic.

Mauricio signed with the New York Mets as an international free agent in July 2017, starting his professional career with the Gulf Coast Mets and Kingsport Mets in 2018. He recorded a .273 batting average with three home runs and 35 RBIs in 57 games.

The following year, Ronny Mauricio was named an All-Star of the South Atlantic League while playing for the Columbia Fireflies, with a .268 batting average, four home runs and 37 RBIs in 116 games.

Mauricio did not play any minor league games in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2021 he split his time between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. He recorded a .248 batting average, twenty home runs, 64 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 108 games, which led to his selection for the 40-man roster.

Ronny Mauricio's impressive performances in the past and present could lead to a bright future with the New York Mets. While he may not make the Opening Day roster, he has shown that he has the talent and potential to become a key player for the team in the future.
