Right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly is headed to the Chicago Cubs in a trade after agreeing to waive his no-trade clause with the Houston Astros. Pressly moved to the Astros in 2018 after being traded by the Minnesota Twins.
Having spent such a long time in Houston, Pressly and his family have fond memories of the clubhouse. On Sunday, Ryan's wife Kat Pressly shared her feelings about their move from the Astros on Instagram.
She posted several photos of Ryan and their family at the Astros’ Daikin Park and expressed her gratitude to the team in the caption.
“This has been probably the most difficult decision we have made as a family. It’s been an incredible ride. THANK YOU HOUSTON. You have been (and always will be) home, you believed in us and helped us make our dreams come true,” Kat wrote.
“From the first pitch to the final out, every moment here has been unforgettable. We are forever grateful for the fans, teammates, friends that have become family, and the countless memories. Thank you for everything. Houston, you have our hearts. 🫶🏻🏆#HomeSweetHouston”
Kat also shared photos from the 2022 season when the Houston Astros won the World Series. In one photo, Kat can be seen posing with Ryan while in another, the couple is hugging and kissing as they celebrate the World Series victory.
Many player's wives reacted to Kat’s heartfelt Instagram post and responded with emotional messages of support. Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve’s wife Neena wrote:

Astros pitcher Josh Hader’s wife Maria commented:

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa’s wife, Daniella, expressed her emotions with a simple but heartfelt reply:
