The New York Mets signed Jackie Bradley Jr. to a minor league deal ahead of the MLB trade deadline. While the Mets were rumored to acquire some top players, they surprised some fans with the latest deal.

The club felt the need to add more depth to their outfield and Bradley seems to be a good fit. The All-Star slugger had an 11-year run in the majors for 11 years most notably with the Red Sox, but his last few years with the league were not too great, leaving him to join the Long Island Ducks.

After news of the signing broke, MLB fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

"Sadly this moves no one in 2024," wrote one fan on X.
"About five years too late," another fan added.
"He can be used for defensive purposes in later innings but shouldn't hit as he's horrible," one fan chipped in.

Comments continued to pour in as several fans pointed out Bradley's previous stats.

"Might’ve had a 1.204 in the low low minors but he had .397 last season and .566 the season before," one fan responded.
"Better get my World Series tickets now. This lifetime .225 hitter who has failed with multiple teams will lead us to glory," one fan chimed in.
"Doesn’t move me," wrote another fan.

Jackie Bradley Jr.'s improvement with the Ducks lands him with the Mets

Despite his struggles in the MLB, Bradley's performance with the Ducks has punched his ticket to return to the big leagues. The slugger will report to Triple-A Syracuse and look to take things forward from there.

It's worth noting that Bradley won a Golden Glove in 2018 while helping lead Boston to the World Series. The Mets could use a reliable glove to improve their defense this season.

The club will look forward to a promising start with Bradley as they face off against crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees.
