San Diego Padres superstar Juan Soto is reportedly dealing with an oblique injury suffered during spring training. He is considered to be day-to-day, but the team will likely play it safe. Oblique injuries are notoriously difficult to deal with if the recovery process is interrupted. Since we haven't hit opening day yet, there is no need to rush him back. This is a worrying sign for Soto and the Padres, who have their sights set on a World Series championship this season. The injury could cause Soto to miss regular season time or have him get off to a slow start. The team around him is stacked, but they still need him to be a consistent presence in the lineup.Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune broke the news on Twitter.Kevin Acee@sdutKevinAceeJuan Soto suffers oblique injury sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/…14228Juan Soto suffers oblique injury sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/…Juan Soto has already missed much of spring training while with Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic. The best ability is availability, which Soto proved to have with the Washington Nationals. Perhaps, this oblique injury will remain minor and keep Soto on the field in the regular season.Gustavo@gustavojr350@sdutKevinAcee Just another excuse as to why Soto will continue to be Subpar as a Padre 🤷‍♂️But at least he'll Walk a Mile, right @jonschaeffer ??@sdutKevinAcee Just another excuse as to why Soto will continue to be Subpar as a Padre 🤷‍♂️But at least he'll Walk a Mile, right @jonschaeffer ??Marlene Koenig 🇺🇸@royalmusing@sdutKevinAcee Obliques are painful.
