Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, and Albert Pujols were an epic trio for the Los Angeles Angels. While it did not translate to much success, they were a blast to watch and struck fear into opposing pitchers.
With the three likely headed into the Hall of Fame, Topps made it a point to commemorate them. They recently leaked a beautiful 1/1 on-card triple auto to be put in a future pack.
There will be only one of these cards available, making it all the more rare. There is no telling what pack this card will be included in, but it is safe to assume it will be in one of the higher-tier packs.
Ohtani cards are already at a premium, especially with his recent World Series victory with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It will be interesting to see the market value for this card when it is eventually pulled.
Shohei Ohtani's rookie card broke a record at a recent auction
Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani could not have asked for a better first season with his new squad. He now has a World Series title to his name and just won his third MVP Award.
That hype has translated into some big-time figures when it comes to his cards. In November, his rookie card sold for $533,140, the highest any of his cards has ever sold for.
It was a 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Auto numbered to 25. It shattered the Superfractor 1/1 which sold for $336,000 back in September.
Ohtani has now entered the realm of Michael Jordan for card collectors. Pulling one of his cards could be life-changing money for some and a big part of card shops' business. So, if you have any valuable Ohtani cards, you may want to dig them up.
