Roki Sasaki and Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani are more than familiar with each other. The two helped Team Japan win their third World Baseball Classic championship back in 2023.
Now, the two can be teammates in the United States. Sasaski is meeting with the Dodgers' organization on Tuesday and the club is bringing in some star players to help sway the hard-throwing Japanese pitcher.

Sasaski has started to narrow down his list of teams, with Shohei Ohtani's club making his top three. The other two teams include the San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays, according to MLB insider Jeff Passan.
The L.A. fanbase is over the moon that he is meeting with their team on Tuesday. A lot of them think it is already a done deal.
"It's joever. Ohtani will work his magic, book it" one fan posted.
"This just turned out to be the biggest waste of f**king time for the 6 or 7 other teams who were interested. He was only interested in signing with the Dodgers from the start" said another.
"Pack it up" said another.
Some fans especially took issue with Sasaki strung along quite a few teams before cutting it down to three. Now, those teams are left scrambling to find something worthy of a backup plan.
"The decision was likely made well before today lol this is all for show to act like other teams had a fair shot" said another.

Dodgers could be unstoppable with Roki Sasaki and Shohei Ohtani on the mound
The Dodgers are already heading into the next season with tons of excitement. Shohei Ohtani is expected to be back on the mound during the 2025 season after rehabbing and be used as the DH in 2024.
Ohtani will join a group that includes Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Blake Snell. Include Roki Sasaki in that mix, and this starting rotation will be a juggernaut.
International signing has become easy for this club. They just signed KBO star Hyeseong Kim to help their middle infield needs. So, they have a really good chance of signing Sasaki. He has until Jan. 23 to come to a decision, so expect him to sign with his next club relatively soon.
