As the offseason goes on, all the teams in the MLB are making the best possible moves in their power to improve their rosters for the upcoming 2025 season.

The Boston Red Sox were also no different than any other team that looked to improve their roster as they recently signed former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler.

Buehler signed a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox after becoming a free agent at the end of the 2024 season. On Saturday, the official X handle of the Red Sox paid tribute to the two-time All-Star by posting a video of him. The tribute post included a message:

"See you at Fenway soon, Walker Buehler."

This sign of respect from the Red Sox towards Buehler was acknowledged by the fans as they gave mixed reactions to it. Some fans took to X to share their opinion on the matter.

Some of them were optimistic about the signing of Walker Buehler by the Boston Red Sox.

"Great pitcher! Top Dog!" a fan wrote.
"I approve this," one fan said.
"Y'all got a dawg. Hope he does well there," another fan wrote.

However, a lot of fans showed their dissatisfaction as they also expressed their opinions.

"Great vid now sign Bregman," one fan remarked.
"How about signing an actual proven major league RH bat and actually spend more than the other poor franchises," another fan said.
"Sign Bregman next," another wrote.
"DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE THE LINEUP ALREADY," one fan suggested.
"Y'all really thought we’d be satisfied with these Plan B moves all off season?? Gtfo," another fan remarked.

The varied reactions from the fans show a mix of satisfaction and dissatisfaction about the performance of the Boston Red Sox in the offseason.

Alex Bregman, who is a former Houston Astros star, became a free agent as the 2024 season concluded. Since then, there has been a lot of uncertainty regarding his future as he has not decided where his future will be.

Earlier in the offseason, the two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion rejected a reported six-year, $156 million contract offered by his former team, the Astros, who were hoping to retain him.

After all the uncertainty, a lot of different names of different suitors are being linked to Alex Bregman. According to Sportsnaut, KPRC-TV sports anchor/reporter Ari Alexander reported that the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers have a “very, very real” possibility of signing Alex Bregman.

“With the door shut on a reunion in Houston, the Tigers, Red Sox and Blue Jays have emerged as serious possibilities, with the New York Mets and New York Yankees showing interest in Bregman throughout the offseason as well,” said Alexander.

Apart from that, ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel believes that Bregman is going to sign a six-year, $187 million deal. Other than that, the New York Yankees and the New York Mets are also linked to Bregman.

Meanwhile, the 2024 season of Alex Bregman with the Houston Astros was a decent one. He played 145 games and he hit .260/.315/.453 with 75 RBIs. Throughout the season, Bregman hit 26 homers and stole three bases.

That said, with the ongoing Alex Bregman saga, it would be interesting to see which team secures the signature of a player of Bregman's caliber.
