First baseman Freddie Freeman is among the five other Dodgers stars who will play in this year's MLB All-Star game, which will take place on July 16 at Globe Life Field. Apart from Freeman, shortstop Mookie Betts, catcher Will Smith, outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, and starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow will join Shohei Ohtani, who will start the game as the designated hitter for the National League team.

This is Freeman's eighth All-Star selection and after taking a loss on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers, the first baseman was asked about the Midsummer Classic and to go along with five other teammates.

"Especially this group of teammates, yeah, especially a lot of them," Freeman said in the post game interview. "I think we have six of us, that's pretty special. I mean, when you got over 20% of your team going to an all-star game, that means you got a pretty good team, so it's going to be fun.
Great group of guys, happy for Tyler, his first one, Teo, Will deserved it, Shohei obviously, and Mookie, and just a great group of guys that we'll be able to enjoy together, and it should be a fun time."

After struggling early in the season, Freddie Freeman showed his caliber once again, improving his stat line month by month. Currently, he is hitting .301 to go along with 13 homers, 58 RBIs and four stolen bases.

Freddie Freeman reflects on Justin Wrobleski's debut in loss against Brewers

The Dodgers took a beating against the Brewers who crushed them 9-2 on Sunday. Freeman went 1-3, including a walk, on a day when the team's offense couldn't save their pitchers.

Justin Wrobleski made his debut for the Dodgers. He allowed four runs and struck out four batters across five innings in a losing effort. Reflecting on his debut, Freddie Freeman said:

"I thought he handled it very, very nicely, looked like he was poised on the mound and pounded the zone," Freeman said. That's very impressive and it's a big league debut."

With the loss, the Dodgers dropped to 55-36. The Dodgers will take on the Phillies next on Tuesday.
