It's been a wild last six months for Carlos Correa. The 28-year old Puerto Rican shortstop rom contract drama, to failed physicals, to a father of two.

On March 11th, Correa uploaded a photo to his Instagram account featuring his wife, Daniella. In the photo, the pair are holding their newborn child. The image is captioned simply with "Kenzo Noak Correa."

The birth of the little cherub marks the second child of Correa and Daniella Rodriguez, who married in 2019. In December 2021, the pair welcomed their first son, Kylo.

The arrival of young Kenzo Correa marks the culmination of an insane year for Carlos Correa. The former AL Rookie of the Year Award winner signed a six-year deal with the Minnesota Twins in January, marking an end to month of uncertainty.

Correa originally signed a 3-year deal worth $105 million with the Twins last year. Correa; then a Houston Astros star, shocked fans by departing a team that he had reached the World Series with twice in four years.

Following a 2022 season wherein Correa hit .291/.366/.467 with 22 home runs and 64 RBIs, he opted out of his deal with the Twins, once again rendering himself a free agent.

"Carlos CORREA is one of the best Shortstops in baseball right now. He has dominated the League with offense and Defense. He is an great leader on and off the field. I hope helps the @Twins win the World Series championship. he is my 2nd favorite shortstop behind Jeter. #Respect" - Brandon Schaer

Over Christmas 2022, Correa was inches away from two blockbuster deals with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. The Mets, under Steve Cohen, were reportedly offering Correa $315 million. However, he failed to meet the physical requirements for either team, and a contract was never reached.

Eventually, Correa decided to return to the Twins. He signed a six-year deal worth $200 million. Upon rejoining the team, he spoke about how much he loved the Twins and their fans.

New dad Carlos Correa is in a much better spot moving forward

Now happily in Minnesota for the long-term, Carlos Correa will do what he can to balance the responsibilities of a baseball player with those of being a full-time dad. Although he was branded "spoiled" among other epiphets during the contract drama, Correa came out the other side. We can expect a massive year from him in 2023.
