Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets held their Amazins' Day on Saturday. It was an opportunity for fans to get close to their favorite players, listen to interviews, get autographs, and much more.
Media showed up in droves to get a better look at one of MLB's hottest teams. They pounded the players with questions, mainly revolving around the team acquiring Juan Soto.
Brandon Nimmo was hit with this question, and he could not be more excited. He is over the moon that he will be suiting up alongside Soto for the 2025 season and beyond.
"Very excited to be with Soto. Obviously, I've played against him for a long time now and [he's] an incredible hitter [and an] incredible athlete. So glad that we won that bidding war and brought him to the orange and blue," said Nimmo.
Nimmo has long played against Soto and knows just how elite a ballplayer he is. He is more than happy that he does not have to worry about him being on the other side of the scorecard.
"I'm excited. He's going to be a presence in the middle of our lineup and it's going to be really exciting to see what he can do" said Nimmo.
According to some insiders, they see Soto batting in the two-spot when the 2025 season comes along. For Nimmo, he could bat cleanup and could be the reason for many of Soto's runs scored.
Brandon Nimmo hoping to be ready to go for the Mets by Opening Day
While spring training is just a few weeks away, Mets slugger Brandon Nimmo is still not completely healthy. he revealed on Saturday that he is still dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
This was something that hampered Nimmo during the 2024 postseason. Since the offseason started, he got an injection and has been working on a recovery plan. It has been a slow progression, but the slugger is jogging.
Nimmo does not believe he will be ready to go for Spring Training. He does not want to push himself too much before he is ready and has to miss more games during the season.
Instead, Nimmo will continue to during his recovery. He plans to be ready to go for the Mets on Opening Day when they take on the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.
