Cleveland Guardians utility player David Fry's wife, Rebekah, shared a heartfelt season-ending post. She expressed her gratitude to God for an "incredible year full of so many surprises, memories, friendships & unexpected blessings."
The Guardians stunned many, winning the AL Central, followed by an ALDS win against the Detroit Tigers before eventually bowing out of the ALCS to the Yankees. Fry, who made his debut last year, earned his first All-Star selection after an impressive season.
On Friday night, Rebekah took to social media to post a lengthy address, giving props to David and talking about seeing their daughter grow up.
She shared a series of snaps with Fry's teammates, partners and their loved ones.
Partners of David Fry's teammates, including Steven Kwan's girlfriend Samantha, Josh Naylor's fiancee Chantel and Bo Naylor's partner Jackie reacted to the post:
"So much love & so many great memories," Jackie wrote.
"My fav fam ever!! Thank you for letting me be apart of y’all’s journey. My absolute best girls in the world!! Love you sm🫶🏼" Samantha wrote.
"The most precious family 🤍🥹" Chantel wrote.
David Fry expressed his faith in Jesus for helping him get Guardians the win
The only game the New York Yankees lost to the Guardians in the ALCS showdown was thanks to David Fry's 10th-inning walk-off home run, which helped Cleveland win 7-5.
“All glory to God,” Fry told Lauren Jbara following his Game 3 heroics. “I had a really bad first at-bat and strikeout. And I just told God, I said, ‘Take it, man. Just take the at-bat.’ I still don’t know what happened, but it ended up that we won.
“I just told God, ‘Hey man, take this. It’s a tough matchup. Just try to have fun and you take the at-bat.’”
Last September, the couple became parents to Evelyn Raye Fry. On the occasion of her first birthday, Rebekah posted a warm message, wishing her daughter:
"{Happy 1st Birthday} to the precious girl that forever changed our lives. You are our sweetest blessing. Our angel. The light of our world. While we can’t wait to see what your future holds and to see the woman you become, we also just want these days, months & years with you to slow down.
"We love you baby girl, more than words could ever describe. Thank you for being you and for being so special. We are so proud to be your mama & daddy. Thank you, Jesus, for this precious & perfect gift!"
After his second year in the majors, David Fry could use the offseason to spend time with his family.
