Miami Marlins reliever Tanner Scott might play for a different team after the MLB trade deadline, which is only four weeks away. According to insider Jon Heyman, many teams are interested in the services of the reliever, including the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles.

Scott has been on a roll this season, with 11 saves across 34 games. In 35 innings pitched, he has recorded 36 strikeouts while having a 1.54 ERA. Scott's ability to generate swings and misses late in games has got World Series contenders interested.

The Marlins situation also suggest that he might get traded. Following a dismal start to the season (29-52), the Marlins are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline. It was confirmed after they had traded their top hitter Luis Arraez to the San Diego Padres for some prospects.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Yankees should be a prime fit for Tanner Scott post trade deadline. Outside of Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver, the Yankees don't have a reliable arm and Scott's presence could bolster chances of World Series hopeful's bullpen.

“He could be a dominant left-handed reliever for a team without one, and while his walks this season are alarming, the Marlins’ 29-year-old closer has worked around them to the tune of a 1.64 ERA,” wrote Passan via ESPN.

The Dodgers too should be interested in trading for Tanner Scott. The LA bullpen could use one more lefty arm alongside Caleb Ferguson and Victor Gonzalez.

Passan also mentioned that the Yankees trading for big players like Pete Alonso or Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doesn't make sense at the moment.

Tanner Scott will be a free agent after this season. He will earn $5.7 million this season after winning the arbitration ahead of the season. Going to a big market team should help him establish his value ahead of an important offseason.
