Team USA is headed back to the World Baseball Championship title round as the defending WBC champions blasted Team Cuba 14-2 in their semifinal game Sunday night at Loan Depot Park in Miami, Fla.

Cuba took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after the first three batters reached base despite not hitting the ball out of the infield off USA starting pitcher Adam Wainwright. However, the USA scored at least one run in each of the first five innings to take a commanding lead.

Trea Turner hit two home runs in the game, including a three-run blast in a four-run sixth inning that all but clinched the victory for the USA. Wainwright earned the victory with four innings of five-hit, one-run ball.

His St. Louis Cardinals staffmate Miles Mikolas tossed four innings of relief, allowing six hits with one run while striking out three Cuban batters. Los Angeles Angels pitcher Aaron Loup closed out the game with a scoreless ninth to send Team USA to the championship round.

Team USA goes for the tournament repeat in the championship game, and their fans are ready to see it.

Even Americans that aren't baseball fans are geetting behind their team. Patriotism knows no bounds when it comes to sports.

Team USA will look to become the second team in World Baseball Classic history to win back-to-back championships. They will take on either Team Mexico or Team Japan on Tuesday night in Miami, Fla.

Japan is the other team to have won consecutive WBC titles, claiming the first two championships in 2007 and 2009.

Mexico is the only team to have defeated the USA, winning a Pool C matchup en route to claiming the pool championship. The USA went to the elimination round as the Pool C runner-up.
