Dominican ace Teoscar Hernandez is staying in LA after re-signing with the Dodgers on a reported three-year, $66 million deal that includes a $15 million option for a fourth year. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, more than $23 million of the deal will be deferred, and Hernandez will also receive a $23 million signing bonus.

Announcing his re-signing with the reigning World Series champions, Hernandez shared a three-word reaction to express his excitement about returning to defend the title with his 2024 teammates. He posted on social media:

Teoscar Hernandez declined a $21.05 million qualifying offer from the Dodgers earlier in the offseason. The team originally signed him last year from the Seattle Mariners, intending to fill a key spot in both the outfield and batting lineup.

However, Hernandez exceeded expectations by delivering one of the most successful seasons of his MLB career. The Dominican star came through in clutch moments, leading the team to several critical victories during the 2024 season.

Teoscar Hernandez's 2024 numbers with the Dodgers highlight an admirable season in the MLB

Hernandez posted a dominant offensive stat line with Dodgers in the 2024 MLB season. He registered a .272 batting average, 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, 160 hits, 12 stolen bases and an .840 OPS.

Teoscar Hernandez carried his good form into the postseason, where he registered 15 hits, three home runs, 12 RBIs and an OPS of .769.

On the back of his impressive performances throughout the 2024 season, he earned a second All-Star nod, his third Silver Slugger Award and also made the All-MLB second team for the second time in his MLB career.

The Dodgers have been busy building a resilient roster to defend their World Series title next season.

Besides re-signing Hernandez, they re-signed utility player Tommy Edman, signed outfielder Michael Conforto, extended reliever Blake Treinen's stay by two years and also signed two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million contract.
