Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout is getting close to making his return to the major league field. The 32-year-old is currently playing for Angels' Triple-A team Salt Lake Bees, to aid in his recovery.
During his time in the minor leagues, Trout is personally taking care of his team’s food needs. According to Kevin Reynolds of The Salt Lake Tribune, he provided meals for the Salt Lake Bees both before and after games.
Mike Trout chose Chick-fil-A for his team's first meal on Tuesday. He said (via Reynolds):

“I reached out a few weeks ago to get some spots lined up. Always take care of your people. The big one today for lunch was Chick-fil-A. And then steaks and stuff for after the game.”
The last time Trout played in the minor league was in 2017. Before becoming a three-time AL MVP he also had a previous stint with the Salt Lake Bees in 2012. Reflecting on the nostalgia of returning, he said:
“Brings back a lot of good memories. I just like hitting here. The fans are great. It’s a beautiful ballpark. The field looks in great shape”
Mike Trout was sidelined on April 29 due to a torn meniscus in his left knee and had surgery on May 3. The 11-time All-Star has been limited in recent seasons due to injuries.
Last year, Trout only played 83 games because of a broken bone in his wrist. In 2022, he missed games due to a back injury, and in 2021, he played just 36 games because of a calf strain.

"Hopefully that's another progression he's making and we can have him back. I don't know exactly when, but let's see how it goes in Salt Lake City and then make a call from there."
"I've been talking with him every day. He's excited about every progression that he makes, and he can't wait get back and we certainly can't wait to have him."
Mike Trout is in the sixth year of his 12-year contract worth $426 million, which he signed in 2019. So far this 2024 season, Trout is batting .220 with 10 homers and 14 RBIs in 29 games played with the Angels.
