Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani's much-awaited 50-50 landmark is finally accomplished, and the slugger did it in style on Thursday evening at LoanDepot Park. The LA club blew past the Miami Marlins with a 20-4 victory and their Japanese superstar put in the best offensive performance of his career.

Ohtani marked his historic performance by going 6-for-6, with three home runs, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases on the night, sending MLB fans crazy on social media.

“The greatest of all time Shohei Ohtani,” wrote one fan on X/Twitter.
“A story that will be told for generations,” added another.
"Founder of the 50-50 club. Congratulations," said @KnightOw7.
"What's crazy is that this guy also pitches," added @SoCalJoeyG.
"Great call, we are so lucky to watch him," wrote @jazz626_.

Ohtani started his evening with his first stolen base of the evening in the first inning, taking his tally for the season to 50 early in the game. The former Angels star then hit an RBI single in the second and went ahead to record his second stolen base of the evening.

Ohtani entered the sixth inning having already gone 3-for-3 with a RBI single and a RBI double, and then decided to take it to another level. He blasted a two-run homer off George Soriano to mark his 49th moonshot of the season. After that, there was only one more home run needed to make history and Ohtani obliged in the seventh, hitting another two-run blast out of the park off Mike Baumann.

He then added the icing on the cake with his third home run of the night, making it 51-51 for the season, leaving fans wondering if he can make it 60-60 before the end of the regular season.

Shohei Ohtani delighted to clinch playoff spot after historic performance with Dodgers

After his performance on Thursday night, there is no doubt that Shohei Ohtani will go down as one of the greatest players in the history of the MLB. However, he is not done yet. Speaking to Sportsnet Live's Kirsten Watson after the game, he said:

"Although I switched uniforms, came to a new team, my goal was always to be in the playoffs. I'm glad that we were able to make it today, personally and as a team."

Despite all the hype surrounding his individual performance in his historic season with the Dodgers, it is clear that the slugger is more concerned with the playoffs. The first goal is now complete and Ohtani and Co. will be focused on lifting the World Series title next.
