Trevor Bauer's agent, Rachel Luba, provided a first-hand glimpse into the pitcher's fandom in Mexico. After pitching on Monday for the Diablos Rojos del México, where the former Dodgers ace pitched five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, Bauer's fans were waiting at the executive parking of the Estadio Victor Cervera Pacheco stadium to meet him.
Luba recorded the situation, describing the scene as she waited for Bauer to arrive in the car.
"Okay, so I'm sitting in the Suburban right now, and I don't know if you can see, but like we are surrounded by people and Trevor's gonna come out the door like right over there, and there's just people everywhere. It's crazy," Luba said in her story.
"I didn't think it was possible to feel claustrophobic from being inside a big suburban but here we are, Luba wrote in her story.
In further snaps, Luba mentioned that for security reasons, they were going to pick Bauer from the stadium only.
"Update: They are moving us into the stadium to get him so he doesn't get mobbed but still going to be difficult," she wrote in the story.
Though Trevor Bauer has not garnered any interest from any MLB team, his excellent stuff is garnering praise south of the border.
Trevor Bauer shares interesting details about teams not signing him because of MLB
On Monday, Trevor Bauer got into an interesting exchange with Nati Sports on social media. There, he shared multiple details from the conversations his camp has had with several MLB teams.
He blamed MLB for discouraging teams from signing him.
"Well one team told us it's not their decision, it's an mlb decision," Bauer wrote on X.
In another tweet, the former Reds pitcher mentioned that one team did not sign him to avoid the league office digging into their past.
"One team told me I was "too expensive" even though I offered to play for minimum, another team told us they have covered some stuff up in the past that they don’t want the media digging into to find out about…" he wrote.
Trevor Bauer last played in MLB in July 2021 for the LA Dodgers. Since then, he has been put on administrative leave following sexual assault allegations placed against him. He was subsequently suspended for 194 games. However, the suspension has already been served and the pitcher is also free of any lawsuits against him.
Despite him being cleared to play, teams have been hesitant to bring him on board.
