Key figures like team owners, management, and even Sixers legend, Julius Erving, visited George at his home in Los Angeles. To add to the appeal, the team showed him a video featuring other famous personalities like Saquon Barkley from the Philadelphia Eagles, comedians Lil Dicky, Kevin Hart and even MLB great Mike Trout.

“ Saquon was in it, Lil Dicky, Kevin Hart, Mike Trout and It was just a ton of like they did this cool like thing of Philly natives. Talking about the city and what the Sixers mean to them and what it’ll mean me coming there. So it was a cool. It was a cool video, it had a lot of energy behind the city,” Paul George said.

Mike Trout has a strong connection to Philadelphia, having grown up in a town just outside of the city. He is a well-known fan of the Philadelphia Phillies in MLB and the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL.

"I never wanted to leave L.A. Initially, I was not trying to leave L.A. L.A. is home. This is where I wanted to finish," George said (via CBS News).

One of the reasons Paul George decided to opt out of the Los Angeles Clippers was due to the initial deal they offered which he found to be ‘disrespectful.’ George has inked a four-year, $212 million max contract deal with the Sixers.

Discussing his recovery, Mike Trout said (via MLB.com):

“I feel great, I feel fine and I’m progressing the way I should be. It's good to get out there and start moving around instead of being in the weight room and the cage. It’s all about the progression of running. I feel good hitting. I took 30 swings out there with no pain at all.”

The 11-time All-Star has been on the injured list since April 30 due to surgery on his left knee. Before hurting his knee, Trout had a batting average of .220 with 10 home runs. He drove in 14 runs and stole six bases in 29 games.
