It was a day to remember for Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers. After defeating the New York Yankees 4-1, the Dodgers won their 8th World Series title. Although injuries kept Kershaw off of the mound throughout the postseason, he was in the middle of the celebrations.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers held their World Series celebrations on the streets of the city. While some members such as Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernandez were busy soaking up the moment after winning their first World Series title, for Clayton Kershaw, he was finally able to enjoy a title parade, five years in the making.

Kershaw, who won his first World Series title in 2020, was unable to enjoy the traditional championship parade due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Well, after several years, Kershaw finally got shared a championship victory with thousands of Los Angeles Dodgers fans.

"It's the best thing I have ever been a part of! It's incredible, I have never seen so many people in my life. They're all Dodger fans and they all love it as much as we do. It's unbelievable," Kershaw said of the World Series parade.

It was a surreal moment for Kershaw, who has spent his entire 17-year career with the Dodgers. There were some question marks surrounding the future Hall of Famer coming into the season after undergoing serious shoulder surgery last offseason. While it took some time to get onto the field, the veteran was able to throw 30.0 innings for his club.

"It's incredible! Never getting to experience something like this and it makes everything worth it," Kershaw continued.

It remains to be seen how many more years Kershaw will continue pitching in the MLB, however, the two-time World Series champion has certainly more than accomplished enough to find himself enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame when he is eligible.

Clayton Kershaw is slated to undergo a pair of offseason surgeries

Kershaw has already made his intentions of picking up his player option and returning to the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025. However, the 36-year-old will need to get his body right before he does so. According to the three-time Cy Young Award Winner, he will undergo a procedure on his toe, as well as his knee.

While a bone spur in his toe ended his season prematurely, Kershaw also explained that he suffered a ruptured plantar plate. The surgery will address the issues in his left foot, as well as meniscus tear in his left knee. While a player of his age could be easy to write off, Clayton Kershaw is built differently.
