New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is without question one of the most popular baseball players in the world. The American League MVP frontrunner has seen his fanbase grown thanks to his mile-high home runs and physical presence at the plate.
Well, it appears that Aaron Judge might soon find himself with a new fanbase in a different demographic. The New York Yankees superstar is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Rubble & Crew, a spin-off of the hit children's television show PAW Patrol. Judge will make his Nickelodeon debut on Aug. 26 on the T.V. sensation.
As soon as the announcement was made that Judge would be appearing on PAW Patrol, Yankees fans took to social media to praise the decision. A number of excited fans mentioned how successful the episode is going to be, while others pointed out that they will be tuning in for the first time in order to see the superstar slugger.
"This episode about to get 20 million views," one fan posted on social media.
"Because even little kids love the Yankees!" - another fan said.
"Name another baseball player in Paw Patrol ? You can’t" one more fan added.
It may not just be Aaron Judge appearing on the episode, but judging by the photos shared about the upcoming guest appearance, it looks like his dogs Gus and Penny might also make cameos. The two Dachshund puppies will also be making their animated debuts in the episode if the promotional photos are accurate.
"Can’t forget the family!" a fan posted about Judge's dogs.
"Are those his dogs they put in the show too?" one fan asked.
"This is so cute it should be illegal," another fan added.
Aaron Judge's cameo could help the MLB build a new generation of fans
Having Judge appear on an episode of Rubble & Crew could be massive for the MLB, as it looks to grow its younger fanbase. While one episode of children's television may not dramatically change the future of the fanbase, having the league's most recognizable stars making cameos in hit shows can only help.
The MLB has been criticized for the way it market's its players, so having arguably the most popular player in the league appear in arguably the most popular children's T.V. show is a win for everyone involved.
