The Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff cannot seem to catch a break of late as the National League West leaders lost rookie pitcher River Ryan to an arm injury on Saturday.

The Dodgers rookie, making his fourth start of the season, had to leave the game alongside a trainer in the fifth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went scoreless throughout 4.2 innings, conceding four hits and striking out four batters before exiting the game with right forearm tightness.

River Ryan's injury comes just a few days after the Dodgers potentially lost reliever Brusdar Graterol for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury on his season debut. The Dodgers are already without Walker Buehler and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. They only recently got ace Tyler Glasnow back after the All-Star break.

The Dodgers fans were perplexed after news of the promising rookie's injury and vented their frustration.

"This team is jinxed!"
"Oh lord no please. Hopefully it’s not anything serious," wrote a concerned fan.
"Just don’t follow apart team!!" prayed a fan.

Several fans also blamed the pitching staff for the uptake in injuries this season.

"Even the training staff sucks along with the coaches," vented a fan.
"Training staff is among the worst in the league," lashed out another.
Got constant looking at the training staff. This shit is way past ridiculous," wrote another fan.
"Dodgers need to fire their strength and conditioning coach, if there's one. This shit is stupid ridiculous. This is probably the team in MLB that leads the league in injuries."

River Ryan has been assured in his rookie season

River Ryan, the No.4 ranked prospect in the Dodgers system, has been impressive from the mound in his debut season after he was promoted to the senior team amidst the injury crisis.

However, the 25-year-old right-handed pitcher didn't show any nerves in his first season in the major league, entering Saturday's game with an impressive 1.72 ERA. He managed four scoreless innings before being removed from the game, lowering his ERA to 1.33.

The Dodgers will be hoping his forearm injury is just a minor issue as the team will need all the help they can get with their aim of making a deep run in the postseason.
