During the 2017 offseason, Giancarlo Stanton was traded to the New York Yankees to form a two-headed monster alongside Aaron Judge. Miami received Starlin Castro and a few minor-league players in return.

It was a fresh start for Stanton after spending eight seasons with the Marlins. He was now part of a storied franchise that is always a contender to win a title.

Ahead of the 2018 season, Stanton sat down with ESPN for an interview about the new opportunity to team with Judge. Stanton was more than ready to get the season started and see what he and Judge could do together.

"We got to enjoy it, we got to embrace it and have fun. This is a very unique situation and one that hasn't happened in a lot of years and we can make it our own," said Stanton.

The Yankees could not have been getting a better player at the time. Stanton was coming off a 2017 season where he won the National League MVP Award.

"[Judge] reminds me a lot of myself. To be honest, the mannerisms, obviously the power, the size, [and] everything. It's going to be a good combo," said Stanton.

While Giancarlo Stanton joined Aaron Judge and the Yankees for the 2018 season, they are still searching for their first World Series title together. It has been a rocky few seasons but this season, the team looks like a juggernaut.

Much of that has to do with the addition of players like Alex Verdugo and Juan Soto and the success of the bullpen this postseason. However, Judge and Stanton are still the heart of the order in this lineup.

The Bronx Bombers made the postseason after missing it entirely last season. They made quick work of the Kansas City Royals in the ALDS before moving to the ALCS.

The Yanks are currently battling with the Cleveland Guardians. They quickly jumped out to a commanding 2-0 series lead with Game 3 being played on Thursday.

If they can get through this series, they will be in the World Series for the first time since the 2009 season. The 2009 season was the last time this storied franchise hoisted the World Series trophy which has made the fanbase uneasy.
