On Friday, Detroit Tigers' newest acquisition, Gleyber Torres, posted a video as he warmed up for an offseason leg workout, while playfully roasting his friends, fellow big leaguers Aroldis Chapman (Boston Red Sox) and Salvador Perez (Kansas City Royals), over choosing to skip the session.

"Warming up on Friday 🐅 @_thecubanmissile54 you're skipping legs, I heard 🏃😂@salvadorp13" Gleyber Torres captioned his Instagram post in spanish

Torres had a decent campaign with the New York Yankees last season, hitting .257, 15 home runs and 63 RBIs.

The Yankees won the AL East division, ALCS and made it to the World Series. Torres and his team were outclassed by the LA Dodgers in the Fall Classic.

Gleyber Torres posts heartfelt message for his former team after moving to the Detroit Tigers

After agreeing to join the Detroit Tigers on a reported one-year, $15 million contract, second baseman Gleyber Torres took to Instagram on December 27, posting a heartfelt message for his former organization, coaches, teammates and fans, alongside a video featuring some of the most memorable moments he experienced as a Yankee.

"Thank you. The Yankees were my family since 2016. A simple boy from Venezuela with great aspirations to play in the most epic city in the world, the Yankees gave me all the love and support I needed to achieve my childhood dream. Wearing pinstripes was an honor for me and my family," part of Gleyber Torres' Instagram post read.

Torres will have a young squad around him, who will need guidance. For now, he can look to get plenty of rest and then gear up for spring training in February.

Having done well to make it to the ALDS, only to lose out to the Cleveland Guardians in the 2024 season, Tigers fans will hope the new talent arriving at Comerica Park leads to an even better postseason run in 2025.
