This weekend will feature all 30 MLB clubs. As such, some of the best players in the league will be on display, and hoping to further improve their fortunes.

Based on two of the top sportsbooks – DraftKings and FanDuel – today, we will be examining some of the players to keep an eye on around the MLB for Friday, July 5.

Top MLB DFS Picks for July 5

Top Pitchers

#1. Paul Skenes ($9,100 on DraftKings, $11,000 in Fanduel)

Paul Skenes is certainly an early candidate for NL Rookie of the Year. Over his past 19 innings spread over three starts, Skenes has allowed just three runs and has registered 24 strikeouts. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking to their young ace to help deliver a win in their series opener against the New York Mets.

#2. Cole Ragans ($8,200 on DraftKings, $10,400 on Fanduel)

Kansas City Royals pitcher Cole Ragans has struck out 17 batters over his past 10.2 innings of work. Although he has been streaky all season, flashes of brilliance have contributed to Ragans holding the most strikeouts on his team, as well as setting a career-high in innings pitched already.

#3. Tyler Glasnow ($10,800 on DraftKings, $11,200 on Fanduel)

Tyler Glasnow will bring his NL-leading 136 strikeouts to work against the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodgers Stadium on Friday. Although Glasnow was roughed up in his last start against the San Francisco Giants, he previously logged 31 strikeouts over the preceding three starts. Additionally, Glasnow leads the MLB in strikeouts per nine innings, boasting an 11.9 figure.

Top Hitters

#1. Bobby Witt Jr ($6,800 on DraftKings, $4,800 on Fanduel)

Since July 1, Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has recorded a team-best OPS of 1.476, which ranks fourth in MLB over that period of time. One of the hottest hitters in the league to be sure, Witt Jr. will join his club at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, on Friday.

In addition to it being one of the most hitter-friendly parks in MLB, Witt Jr. has also dominated the Rockies throughout his career. In six career contests, the Texan has hit .306 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs against Colorado.

#2. Gunnar Henderson ($6,500 on DraftKings, $4,400 on Fanduel)

Gunnar Henderson's two-run homer in the O's 7-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday was his first in seven games. In addition to his 75 runs scored leading the AL this year, Henderson has hit .289/.382/.605, and is two homers shy of setting a career-high.

Against the Athletics, who will welcome the Orioles on Friday, the infielder has hit .306 with three homers and seven RBIs in 12 career games.

#3. Yordan Alvarez ($5,400 on DraftKings, $3,900 on Fanduel)

Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez is coming off a huge series in Toronto. Across the breadth of the four-game series, the Cuban recorded two doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs. Currently a .302 hitter, Alvarez appears poised to surpass his 37 home runs from 2022, which stands as his season-high.

Budget Picks

#1. Randy Arozarena ($4,100 on DraftKings, $2,900 on Fanduel)

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena has struggled to a .197 batting average so far this season, with his lack of hitting success contributing to his team's mediocre 44-43 record. However, over his past five games, the Cuban has hit an even .300, chipping in with a home run and a pair of RBIs. Watch out for the speedster to make an impact in his team's game against Texas.

#2. Jonathan India ($4,000 on DraftKings, $3,000 on Fanduel)

After a sluggish start to the season, Cincinnati Reds' Jonathan India is coming alive. Over the past 15 days, India's .544 on-base percentage is the highest in MLB, and the infielder played a big role in his team's 8-4 win over the New York Yankees on Thursday, contributing with three runs scored and a solo home run.

#3. Luis Arraez ($4,700 on DraftKings, $2,800 on Fanduel)

Since arriving in San Diego via a trade with the Miami Marlins in early May, two-time MLB batting champ Luis Arraez has hit .320/.347/.390. Although the Venezuelan has only managed to log a .255 batting average over the past month, his .316 career average against the D-Backs, who play the Padres on Friday, is good news for Friars fans.
