It is a packed Sunday schedule in the MLB with all 30 teams on the field. This gives players for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) lots of options to pick. Yet it is important not to make a mistake in choosing the players. Here's a class nine-game slate to help out your picks.
Pitchers for MLB DFS Sept. 1
Dylan Cease ($10,000 on DraftKings)
Dylan Cease gets an easy matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays after suffering a 4.43 ERA during August. He is three strikeouts away from becoming the second pitcher this season to record 200 Ks after Tarik Skubal of the Tigers.
Nestor Cortes ($8,500 on DraftKings)
After concerns about where he will keep his place in the rotation, Yankees starter Nestor Cortes Jr. has been hot on the mound in his recent starts. In his last three outings, he has gone 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA. He is up against the Cardinals, who have managed nine runs in the current series.
Sean Manaea ($8,700 on DraftKings)
Sean Manaea is expected to help the Mets complete the series sweep over baseball's worst team, the Chicago White Sox. Manaea is 2-0 against Chicago, with a 2.81 ERA over his three starts.
Hitters for MLB DFS Sept. 1
Jarren Duran ($6,300 on DraftKings)
Red Sox center fielder Jarren Duran has 10 hits over his last six starts. He created history in the past week, becoming the first player in MLB history to record 10 triples, 20 home runs, 30 stolen bases and 40 doubles in a season.
Juan Soto ($6,600 on DraftKings)
Juan Soto and the Yankees face the St. Louis Cardinals in the rubber game on Sunday. Over his 30 games in his career against the Cards, he has 31 hits, 15 RBIs and two homers.
Yordan Alvarez ($6,100 on DraftKings)
Yordan Alvarez leads the Astros in a number of offensive metrics. He has an ongoing nine-game hitting streak and will look to turn in a strong performance so that Houston can complete the four-game sweep over the Royals.
Budget Picks for MLB DFS Sept. 1
Wilyer Abreu ($4,100 on DraftKings)
Red Sox rookie Wilyer Abreu is hitting at .270 with 53 RBIs over 89 hits this season, including 14 home runs and seven stolen bases. He has emerged as a strong budget pick.
Andres Gimenez ($3,600 on DraftKings)
The Guardians 2B went 3-5 with a solo home run in the series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates and is expected to end the series on a high.
Trevor Larnach ($3,100 on DraftKings)
Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach has been hitless since his three-RBIs night against the Braves last week but remains an affordable option with a matchup against the Blue Jays.
