Former Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer lifted the LMB championship trophy with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico on Friday. His agent Rachel Luba shared the special moment of Yankee Stadium congratulating the Mexican Baseball League champions:
"Yankee Stadium congratulating the @DiablosRojosMX on their Championship!" Luba said on X/Twitter.
This was the 17th title for the Diablos Rojos del Mexico and broke a 10-year drought. The Red Devils of Mexico made light work of the North Division champions, Sultanes de Monterrey, winning 4-0.
Trevor Bauer was the orchestrator in Game 3, pitching six solid scoreless frames. He gave up four hits and struck out four batters. Bauer finished the postseason with an impressive 3-1 record.
Bauer won the Cy Young Award with the Reds in 2020 and then went on to sign a multi-year deal with the Dodgers. He was placed on administrative leave by MLB after allegations of sexual assault and was released by the Dodgers in January 2023.
He signed a one-year deal with the Yokohama DeNa BayStars in the NPB for the 2023 season and spent the 2024 season with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico.
