Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday. Kimmel welcomed Betts to his show and began questioning him in a humorous manner. However, many were not happy with a question about Shohei Ohtani.

“You know this guy Shohei Ohtani right? The guy on your team from Japan… So when you join the Dodgers you are an unbelievably great player you start going, ‘Hey maybe I will be the greatest Dodger of all time’. And then this guy Ohtani shows up. Is it a humbling experience?” Kimmel said.

Many Major League fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Kimmel’s question on X/Twitter.

“Kimmel is the worst kind of person,” a fan said.
“That was terrible. @JimmyKimmelLive . Mookie was MVP and golden glover. Still one of the best and future HOF,” another fan said.
“Rude. Trying to create drama and jealousy. Punk,” another fan wrote.

A few took it with a grain of salt.

“Oh whatever.. it’s Mookie and Kimmel is just poking fun.. and he’s not wrong .. it’s freakin Ohtani,” a comment reads.
“Lmfao bruh it’s not that bad it’s an unserious show doing an unserious interview calm down,” someone wrote.

Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani has had a spectacular 2024 regular season, breaking many records. Ohtani, who has 54 homers and 59 stolen bases, became the first player to enter the 50-50 club.

Betts has also performed well after returning from the injured list in August, having been sidelined for almost two months due to a fractured left hand. Betts is hitting .289 with 19 homers, 75 RBIs, and a .863 OPS this season.

Mookie Betts praises Shohei Ohtani, compares their speeds and discusses who is quicker

During his interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Mookie Betts was asked who is quicker, him or Ohtani.

Betts replied:

"No chance I'm faster than Ohtani. He would beat me in a race. He would beat pretty much everybody.
"You work so hard, you know, your whole life, and you want to be the best. And no matter how hard you work, you're not going to be better than Shohei Ohtani."

The Dodgers will commence their playoff campaign against the Padres on Saturday.
