Defending Champions Team USA started their title defense at the 2023 World Baseball Classic with a thumping 6-2 win over Team Great Britain. They are set to face Mexico for their second Pool C game on Sunday, 12 March. The starting pitch is expected to be thrown out at 10 pm ET.

Team USA is stacked with some of the best players in the MLB, including Mike Trout, Nolan Arenado, and Mookie Betts. Team USA, Team Japan and Team Dominican Republic are the favorites to win the competition, although Team DR's campaign suffered an early jolt at the hands of Venezuela.
