Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers received some positve news after his shoulder injury on Saturday against the New York Yankees, with one sports doctor predicting that he will miss only one or two games.

When the Japanese star attempted to steal second base in the seventh inning of the World Series Game 2, he appeared to injure his left arm while making the slide and lay on the ground in pain.

While the injury initially looked worse, it has since been revealed that Ohtani has a left shoulder subluxation. Sports doctor Brian Sutterer has explained that it's very positive news, with hopes of Ohtani's return before the World Series far from over.

"Very positive news! If true it’s possible he only misses a game or two, if any," wrote Sutterer on X.

Ever since Shohei Ohtani made his historic $700 million move to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the aim for both parties has been clear: to win the MLB World Series.

The Japanese star has fit in perfectly with his new teammates and won the hearts of LA fans. After breaking multiple records over the regular season, Ohtani clinched a maiden postseason berth, which has led him to the World Series.

However, his injury during Saturday's Game 2 seemed to have ended his World Series run after being led off the field clutching his left arm. The initial action looked like he had injured his wrist, which is a complicated joint and could have ended his postseason.

Luckily, it has since been revealed that the problem is with his left shoulder, where he has a subluxation. According to Brian Sutterer MD, Shohei Ohtani might miss only one of two games next week. Nonetheless, the Dodgers remain cautious and are waiting for further test results before announcing their decision on his future.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto gives Dodgers fans plenty to celebrate despite losing Shohei Ohtani to injury

Apart from giving up a solo home run to Juan Soto in the third inning, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a flawless outing on his World Series debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Japanese pitcher threw 6.1 innings on the night, largely keeping the New York Yankees bats at bay apart from a single hit, which yeilded a home run, recording four strikeouts.

While Shohei Ohtani's injury was concerning for LA fans, they have plenty to be happy about, thanks to Yamamoto's masterful performance. At only 26, he has shot down one of the most feared lineups in baseball and shows huge potential for the future.
