Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a big year ahead of him. With free agency looming after the 2025 season for the 25-year-old, a bad season could derail his plans of reportedly getting a contract worth $400 to $500 million.

Guerrero Jr. is using the offseason to buckle up for the new campaign. He joined Nicole Gabriel Training, a private training facility with personalized training programs in Tampa, Florida. The facility has hosted 150+ athletes, among which include 15+ All-Stars. 10+ World Series champions, three MVPs, four Gold Gloves and two Rookie of the Years.

On Wednesday, the training facility uploaded a series of snaps involving Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Along with him, Cleveland Guardians outfielder Estevan Florial, Kansas City Royals first baseman Callan Moss and Baltimore Orioles prospect Andrew Tess were also spotted in the pictures.

The training included running sprints, stretching, leg exercises and many other drills.

Mets reportedly interested in trading for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

While first baseman Pete Alonso remains a free agent and most expect him to re-sign with his former team, the New York Mets, a new bombshell report tying Vladimir Guerrero Jr., has sent shockwaves in the league.

According to Mike Rodriguez, the Mets are putting together a blockbuster trade proposal for Guerrero Jr., who has given a deadline to the Blue Jays to either give him a desired contract extension or risk losing him to free agency. The Blue Jays have until the start of spring training to make things work.

As such, if the Blue Jays are not confident about re-signing him when he becomes a free agent, they'll be better off to trade him up and get exciting prospects and top stars in return.

Both parties avoided arbitration by settling on a one-year, $28.5 million salary earlier in January.

If a deal between the Mets and Guerrero works out, they might not re-sign Pete Alonso, whose contract expectation is reportedly far off from what the Mets front office is willing to give him.
